Production Information
Producer/Theatre Company: Phantom Projects Theatre Group Union Status: NON-UNION Director: Steve Cisneros Casting 18 and over, no exceptions. Must have reliable transportation. Most shows are during the school day. Conflicts can be worked around with advanced notice. There are no understudies and as such, each performer is expected to be at each performance day.

Auditions will be held at The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot located at 311 South Euclid St, La Habra CA 90631
Be sure to use the address in your GPS. If you just enter “Phantom Projects”, it may take you to the wrong location.
What to Prepare for Auditions
Please bring in a printed headshot, resume and all conflicts between the audition date through June 2026. Please prepare the sides for the character(s) you are auditioning for. You can prepare for multiple characters, but we cannot guarantee that time will allow for multiple reads.
The roles of Wilbur, Homer and Charlotte have already been cast. Casting the roles of Narrator, Fern and Templeton.

Performance Information
There will be approx. 6-10 performance days per month. Sometimes, there are multiple schools in one day.

Rehearsal Information
Paid $19/hour for rehearsals and show days. There will be approx 12-20 rehearsal hours. Show days are paid a 4-hour minimum but can range in actual length from 3-8 hours.
About the Show
Based on the classic children’s book by E.B. White
All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer”.
Character Breakdown
All roles open to any ethnicity. 18 and over, no exception.
The roles of WILBUR, CHARLOTTE & HOMER have already been cast.
[TEMPLETON] 18 and over, all ethnicities male. Wily, mischievous and selfish rat. Actor also plays Arable, Fern’s father, among other characters.
[FERN] 18 and over, all ethnicities, female. To play young girl. Loyal and loving girl who is Wilbur’s human protector; (Also plays Goose, Judge, Spectator).
[NARRATOR] 18 and over, all ethnicities any gender. Energetic guide to our young audiences. Sets the tone of the whole show! (Also plays Gander, Reporter, Uncle the Pig, and the President of the Fair).
