Classes with Dani Keaton
Phantom Projects alum Danielle Keaton has been a working actress for over 25 years! Danielle began her career alongside John Rubenstein and Brian Stokes-Mitchell in the West Coast Premiere of Ragtime at the Shubert Theatre. Since then Danielle has amassed an impressive list of television credits, guest starring in many popular shows such as Without a Trace and Beverly Hills, 90210. Danielle has also worked with a number of talented actors and directors in films such as John Carpenter’s Village of the Damned starring the late Christopher Reeve, the indie film Traveler starring Bill Paxton and Mark Walhberg, Puppet Masters alongside Cory Feldman, and Beethoven’s 3rd with Judge Reinhold. Danielle can also be seen in the films American Black Beauty and Protecting the King, in which she stars as the girlfriend of Elvis Presley’s stepbrother and bodyguard. Danielle also portrayed Anne Frank at the California Theatre in their production of The Diary of Anne Frank, and was thrilled to be part of the Worldwide Premiere of Frankenstein at Fullerton College.
More recently, Danielle has expanded her involvement in the entertainment industry outside of acting and is now working on the Warner Brothers lot as a Development Assistant, and at the newly formed Production Company for Director Todd Phillips and Actor Bradley Cooper. During her two years at Warner Brothers, Danielle got to see firsthand the casting process for Jonah Hill’s new movie, sitting and discussing closely with the director and producers which gave her the incentive to want to teach fellow actors: preparation before an audition, auditioning techniques, cold readings, working on-camera, and learning to deal with the ups & downs of the entertainment industry. Danielle’s technique focuses on moment-to-moment acting and the philosophy of one of her acting mentors: “Keep it simple, keep it clear, but most of all be sincere.”
At Phantom Projects, we strictly limit our class size in order to give them the individual attention they require to develop into working artists. Our classes are fun and welcoming, but we also push our students so they can reach their full potential.
Anyone can act, but not everyone can act truthfully. We teach our students to understand the behavior and motivation of a scene through self-exploration, improvisation, and relaxation. The goal is for our students to find the truth within the subtext and allow their imaginations to soar. Within a safe, supportive environment, we encourage our students to risk, explore, create, and believe in the powers of their creativity. Students are exposed to scene study, character creations, journaling, relaxation exercises, audition prep, camera work, learn to shift between theater, film and television, all while finding their voice as an artist.
Be ready to work. Be ready to play. Do it for you. Do it for your Art.
