Holy Ghost Bingo: God, Goblins, & Games is a Halloween-themed interactive comedy play written by Vicki Quade, one of the authors of the hit comedy, Late Nite Catechism.

Mrs. Mary Margaret O’Brien, a former nun, is here to raise money while playing bingo and talking about Halloween traditions, scary movies, condemned board games, and haunted churches. It’s a crazy night of Halloween trivia, audience interaction, and the funniest costume contest you’ve ever seen. Add to that a box of wacky prizes, some Halloween candy, fun bingo cards, and a lot of Catholic humor for a night of entertainment you’ll never forget. And in this interactive bingo show, you’ll actually play bingo. What could be more fun?!

You’ll be laughing so hard, you’ll have to be careful watching your bingo cards!

The Production Team

Vicki Quade (writer and performer) is best known for co-creating the one-woman show, Late Nite Catechism, which opened in 1993 in Chicago and holds the record for the longest running religious comedy in the city’s history and the longest one-character comedy in OFF-Broadway history.

She has written and produced a lot of theater in Chicago, including comedies, bluegrass musicals, improv, and magic, including four other religious comedies: Put the Nuns in Charge! (a look at modern sins), Sunday School Cinema (a look at religion and Hollywood), Saints & Sinners (about church fundraising schemes) and her holiday show, Mother Superior’s Ho-Ho-Holy Night. Some of her other plays include Room for Advancement, Mr. Nanny, and Here Come the Famous Brothers.

She has started a line of bingo shows, including Bible Bingo, Christmas Bingo, Movie Bingo, Convent Bingo, and Saints & Sinners Bingo. In these shows, she brings to life new comedies about fundraising and bingo. The parish needs money and the Archdiocese has a new bingo department. Bring the two together and you have a night of bible trivia, audience interaction, and the funniest quiz about the Holy Family you’ve ever seen. Add to that a box of wacky prizes, fun bingo cards, and a lot of Catholic humor. In this interactive bingo show, we actually play bingo! And get the audience talking about everything from Adam & Eve to modern sins. You’ll be laughing so hard, you’ll have to be careful watching your bingo cards!

Occasionally Vicki also puts on the nun’s habit, regularly appearing in special performances for corporate events and private parties. She also appears as Mrs. Mary Margaret O’Brien, her bingo character, around the country, including performances in Chicago, as well as in Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Orleans, New York, and Wisconsin. She also appeared in the All the Women You Want comedy festival at Los Manos Gallery, delivered political rants in Verbatim Verboten at the Royal George Theatre, and appeared in a benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues at both the Apollo Theater, and at the Center on Halsted.

As a producer, she has produced her own shows, as well as shows for the mentalist Christopher Carter, the musical Forever Plaid, the improv comedy Cast on a Hot Tin Roof, and the political spoken word piece Verbatim Verboten.

She produced the U.S. premiere of Drapes by Australian playwright Stephen House, at Victory Gardens Theatre, Chicago. A version of Verbatim Verboten, produced in conjunction with her production company, opened off-off-Broadway in 2009 at WorkShop Theater Company.
