WHAT YOU WILL SING AT AUDITIONS:

  • First, make an audition appointment!
  • ALL performers auditioning must SING 16-32 bars (measures) of the song of their own choice. This is about ONE MINUTE, for those of you who aren’t as familiar with music.
  • Songs should be musical theater style and age appropriate. If you have trouble finding a musical theater song, any style is acceptable, as long as it allows you to sing your best!
  • Performers are encouraged to audition with a karaoke or accompaniment track (NO VOCALS ON the recording.) on their own DEVICE (phone, computer, IPAD). They can bring this device (cued up and READY to go) in with them when they audition. We will be able to plug our speaker into your device DIRECTLY. WORDS OF ADVICE: Sing the BEST part of the song, or the part that you SING AND SOUND YOUR BEST and is the MOST IMPRESSIVE. This may mean that you start a minute or two into the song, and that is ok! Just make sure the track is “cued” up right to where you are about to start singing. Write down the minutes/seconds, and we can also help to have the music start at that moment.
    • If you do not have a track, you may also sing acapella (on your own, without music.)
  • Performers may also choose to sing an audition cut from one of the songs IN THE SHOW.

A NOTE ON CALLBACKS:

Some performers will be asked to attend callbacks, where they should be prepared to read scenes, sing small excerpts of songs, and dance. Some performers will not be needed to attend callbacks, and some may be asked to attend for just a short period of time. In any case, if you are not asked to attend callbacks, this does NOT mean that you are cut from the show. We have definitely cast performers that were NOT asked to return to callbacks. Do not assume you are not cast until the official cast list has been released.

*You will NOT be considered for the show unless you have completed the submitted ALL of your rehearsal conflicts. Please look over your calendars in detail. NO performance/show conflicts are accepted. Please reconsider your schedule if you have performance conflicts, as you will NOT be cast.

*NOTE on DOUBLE CASTING– There are 3 total weekends of performances. We may be double casting some or all roles, which would mean that performers would split all performances. When cast list is sent out, specific info on the performance schedule will be included.
